OCTOBER 21-27, 2018

When two hearts recognize one another within the dream, even for a moment they rend the veil of separateness and break and break out of the dream – by touching the mystery that is Love ! –Ram Dass

There is power in beginnings. The Journey to create this retreat feels like it started hundreds or thousands or even life times ago, the same as the ancient tribes who inhabited these lands. Only the Soul knows.

Come join us for an incredible Yoga and Native experience in Bocas del Toro, Panama.

Deep inside of you dwells a vast store of ancestral wisdom. Its a sacred, infinite place thats not separate from these great mountains, ocean and infinite skies. If we all were to trace our DNA to the first origins, we would come to know that we are all natives

The Whole idea behind this retreat is to Awaken that which is inside of you, through the connection of the land and your own spirit, so that you can hear the many signs that are constantly around you and in unison and flow guide your life to much more noble ways.

It is simply a matter of learning how to access that wisdom, and this Retreat together with the Healing Foods, Yoga Science, Native Healing can help deepen your connection to the mysterious natural forces around you.

Special Guest Teacher: Katie Mclaughlin

Flow, Hatha, Kundalini & Native Spirit Healing

Katherine loves to Love, her message comes from her Gurus and Masters that Love is the strongest Medicine and you will find in her ways the devotion into everything that she carefully puts, starting from the moment she meets you.

Yoga Retreats in Panama was built 8 years ago by Katherine and her best friend, Sofia, based on the concept that we all deserve to connect back to what is important and real: Nature does that to you. You will find Katherine cooking healthy and yummy foods that will heal and inspire you; teaching some Bhakti Flow a special kind of Yoga that brings in the spirituality and devotion to Life and Yourself. Connects you to the Spiritual Side of your movement and therefore makes you a better owner of your temple, your body, in unison with your breath.

Katherine also teaches Kundalini Yoga under Yogi Bhajan’s teachings, and she mixes this science in her teachings a lot considering that we are living in an era of awakening and constant rapid movement that we need to keep up. Yogi Bhajan’s favorite quote was “Keep up and you will be kept Up”and that is the mantra for this Aquarian age.

It is difficult to express in a few words what you can feel when you visit the Bocas del Toro archipelago. Only some places around the world keep this particular atmosphere, seductive, primitive and unforgettable. Bocas del Toro captivates its visitors because of its amazing vegetation, its biodiversity, its ancients customs: it is a real biological fantasy…

This is the ideal moment to visit these islands, to time travel and get lost in one of the hundreds of wonderful places that you can enjoy. With an indescribable and overwhelming natural beauty, added to the great combination of races and ethnicities, living in harmony with indigenous, Western Caribe peoples, Latino’s and extraneros, Bocas del Toro is not just a beautiful archipelago lost in time, blessed by nature — Bocas del Toro is an example of coexistence and multi-cultural respect for everyone. Welcome to Bocas del Toro archipelago … will be amused and amazed, tempted beyond belief and for certain you will to take with you priceless memories of a different world. Enjoy your life….. La Loma is all about the outside and the outside here is glorious – towering trees, deep green mangrove bays and glittering beaches. Whether you’re swinging in a hammock as blue Morpho butterflies drift by, wandering jungle trails or peeling cacao beans you’ll discover first-hand the magnificence of this tropical island.

We’ve handmade only 4 ranchos each inconspicuously sited in the verdant jungle. Using vernacular architecture, we’ve designed beautiful simple retreats made from naturally fallen trees, sustainably harvested lumber and other renewable natural materials such as bamboo and wild cane. Each rancho has a private bathroom with a hot water shower, comfortable beds with enormous canopy mosquito nets and furniture crafted on-site from local materials.

Solar panels provide power for subtle lighting and ceiling fans. Water is supplied from on-site springs and rain catchment systems. There are no TVs or air conditioners at La Loma only the exuberant sounds of the jungle, cool breezes from the bay and binoculars to watch life in the treetops.

You’ll need to be fit to stay at La Loma; three of our four ranchos are accessed by a steep 5–7 minute climb. The views are worth the hike.

Give and Surf directly serves a population of over five hundred Ngobe community members living in the communities of Bahia Roja, Bahia Honda, and Solarte. These impoverished, remote communities survive mainly off subsistence living without electricity, running water, clean drinking water, and bathroom facilities. The area is provided insufficient government education for grades 1st-6th and has a limited number of resources and opportunities for prosperity.

For these reasons Give & Surf aims to provide substantive, hands-on, real world assistance and programs to a hundred and thirty children ages three to sixteen. Give & Surf has constructed and developed two schools in Bahia Honda and Bahia Roja that provide the following: a daily preschool and kindergarten, summer school, surf outreach mentorship program, after school program, Adult and Elementary School english programs, music program, and community development initiatives. Give & Surf and its supporters also sponsor the continued education of thirty students through a sponsorship program that provides the necessary transportation and school supplies needs of students ages 13-18.

Island Hop for a Few Days or More

Since Bocas it’s an archipelago and there are tons of things to do around the different islands, we truly recommend that if you are staying longer to take a day or two to island hop. Did you know that the majority of the locals know how to drive boats but very few drive cars? So Cool !

Destinations include Isla Carenero (US$1), Isla Bastimentos and Isla Solarte (US$5) and Red Frog Beach (US$8). Scheduled boats leave for Almirante (20 minutes, US$6) every half-hour. Staff is trained in safe boating and sustainable-tourism practices.

While Bocas it’s a pretty small place to be, there are so many GOOD and varied options to eat out and most of them you will find to be absolutely different and in gorgeous settings.

One of the best restaurants in Bocas town, this mellow North American–run place on the edge of the sea specializes in Caribbean and seafood dishes, with fare such as red curry calamari and miso-crusted grouper on the chalkboard. Service is friendly and the tranquil location makes it a great spot for a quiet, romantic dinner.
